As the solemn 3 weeks and 9 days come to a close this Sunday night, time to start planning some fun activities for the last few weeks of August before the school year starts again and holiday prep begins.
These classes are a great activity to do with the kids if they're into cooking, and to go with friends, or to make it a date night!

KNIFE SKILLS Tuesday, 8/13/19 1:00 PM Every chef knows that the knife is the most important tool in the kitchen. Yet few home cooks know how to use one the right way. Their chef will teach several different knife cuts that will help you become a faster, more efficient cook. You’ll also improve your presentation skills by learning the correct ways to cut and chop vegetables and herbs into attractive shapes and garnishes. A light meal will be served at the end of class. Join them for this workshop and learn to slice, dice, and mince your way to kitchen success!
ARTISAN BREADS AND CHALLAH WORKSHOP Wednesday 8/14/19 1:00 PM There is nothing like the smell and taste of freshly baked bread! They welcome beginner and intermediate bakers and just about everyone in the world who loves bread to join them. In this artisan bread baking and challah class, students will learn the fundamentals of baking yeast breads and the difference between the 5 families of bread: Lean, soft, rich, sweet, and slack. Learn basic tips on ingredient selection, kneading, baking times and more. Students will engage in hands-on molding, shaping, and baking a variety of breads including classics such as: Challah, French baguette, walnut raisin bread, and foccacia. This is a unique class not to be missed.

Learn to host the perfect Tapas party! In this hands-on workshop they'll cover the origin of Tapas as well as a wide variety of dishes so that your next event, whether for 2 or 20, will be a huge success. Come learn, cook, eat and enjoy this legendary cuisine from Spain. This class is a taste-tester's dream!
NOODLE WORKSHOP: SOBA, UDON AND BEYOND Thursday, 8/15/19 1:00 PM Come join them for a brand new workshop...Noodles! Nothing says comfort quite like a steamy bowl of fresh noodles teeming with crunchy, sweet, hot, and fresh ingredients. They will explore and produce 3 authentic classic Asian noodles from scratch served with accompanying broths. The varieties of textures and flavors and temperatures are what make Asian noodle dishes really stand out. Take home your own noodle masterpiece. It's time for you to do the take-out!
STEAK NIGHT Thursday, 8/15/19 6:30 PM Join them as they demystify kosher beef cuts: First Cut Rib Steak, Oyster Steak, Surprise Steak, Deckles, Filet, Flanken, and Short Ribs. Learn firsthand where steak cuts come from as well as the difference between USDA quality grades. Learn how to select a great steak for home cooking. Join temh for an educational, fun, tasty evening as we offer our guests wines, beers, house cocktails, as well as hors d'oeuvres from our hospitality table (including house made focaccia with seasonal dips). Their dinner will be complemented with traditional steakhouse side dishes. Get ready to get hands-on and don't forget to leave room for dessert...a seasonal house made dessert artistically presented!
CHALLAH AND YEAST BREAD WORKSHOP Friday, 8/16/2019 10:00 AM Usher in Shabbos baking focaccia and challah in this challah and yeast bread workshop.Their chef will guide you in challah and general bread making techniques with step by step instructions for proofing, kneading, and braiding techniques.You will also learn fermentation fundamentals and gain a better understanding of the laws and mitzvah pertaining to challah baking. Your fragrant, golden, loaves will be the absolutely “toast” of the town!
CHOCOLATE, CHOCOLATE, CHOCOLATE! Sunday, 8/18/19 10:00 AM Come join their chef for this very exciting workshop on all things chocolate! The class will start with an explanation of what chocolate is and how it is used in pastry and confectionery work. The chef will then demonstrate how to temper chocolate, how to mold chocolate, and how to create a variety of different chocolate truffles. Enjoy your creations with a bit of sparkling wine and a nibble from our hospitality table. This a hands-on class, so be prepared to get your hands dirty (and then lick them clean)!
SMOKING AND GRILLING 101 Monday, 8/19/19 6:30 PM What better way to celebrate a Summer weekend than with an outdoor (weather permitting) smoking and grilling class? They'll be gearing up for summer and learning all the secrets of home smoking and grilling so you too can become a revered pitmaster. Join them as they demystify outdoor cooking. Learn the difference between grilling and barbequing. This is a serious 4-hour class for pitmasters and weekend warriors. We will contrast, compare, and eat our way through grilling, barbequing and smoking. Your grillmaster, Chef Avram Wiseman will explore dry rubs, mops, and indirect heat grilling. Spatchcock and other techniques will be explored and devoured. Vegetable grilling will also be highlighted, demonstrated and consumed. Participants will grill, carve, and be a part of the East Coast's Barbeque Pitmasters! CULINARY DATE NIGHT: REGIONAL COOKING OF MEXICO Tuesday, 8/20/19 6:30 PM The cuisine of Mexico is defined by the kind of bright, clean flavors that remind one of summer. They will explore these flavors and delve deeper in to Mexican food than the standard Americanized tacos and burritos that people are used to. They’ll be using a variety of spices, dried chilies, fresh herbs and vegetables to create a menu that will have you welcoming warmer days!
CULINARY DATE NIGHT Thursday, 8/29/19 6:30 PM Work together with that special someone (son/daughter/friend/family members) to create a delicious 4-course, upscale dinner. Special attention will be paid to teaching how to plate and present each course so that they appeal to the eye as well as the palate. Let someone else do the dishes while you enjoy a white tablecloth elegant dining experience that you will never forget! This culinary event starts with their hospitality table which includes our signature house cocktail, beer, wine, house made calamata olive foccacia with seasonable dips, and chef's choice of hors d'oeuvres and canapes. Participants will then prepare their own gourmet dinners after a chef led cooking demonstration. Date night consists of 4 delicious courses artistically presented and served with appropriate wines. Don't forget to save room for dessert!
