BOOTH- COOMBE.
A very pretty wedding was solemnized
at the Methodist Church. Kempsey,
by the Rev. Kay Mason, on June 10,
1939, when Mavis Rose, only daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Coombe, Hol
man Street, Kempsey, was joined in
the bonds of holy wedlock to Cecil
Macleay Booth, second son of Mr. and
Mrs. Mark Booth, of lemagog, Upper
Macleay River. The bride looked
most charming, as she entered the
Church with her father, wearing a
beautiful gown of magnolia embossed
bridal satin, made on classical lines
and featuring a very smart train, fin
ished off with tiny satin. bows from the
neck to hemline. She also wore a
magnolia two-tier winged cut tulle veil
which was held in place with a coronet
of miniature -arums and orange blos
soms, which gave a most striking
effect. The bridal ensemble was the
skilful work of the bride's! aunt, Mrs.
R. Pallman, of Tuncurry; and the
dainty cushion of niched satin on
which the bride and bridegroom knelt
was her gift. The bride carried a,
beautiful bouquet of tuberoses and
cream, shrysantehmums. She was at
tended by two) of her friends, Miss
Mollie Budden and Miss Thelma
Booth, sister of the bridegroom, both
prettily frocked in blue satin, made on
classical lines with slight trains, and
headdress of blue delphiniums. They
carried lovely bouquets of pink sweet
peas, mounted on gold leaves. Joyce
and Beryl, small twin daughters of
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fellows, were
flower girls, most daintily attired in
frocks of striffened net over pink
taffeta.- Their headdress were sprays
of pink delphinium and watsonias.
Mr. Clarry Booth, brother of the
bridesgroom, was best man; Mr.
Percy Forrest, groomsman; and Mr.
Harold Booth and Mr. Wes Booth,
ushers. Whilst the register was being
signed Mrs. R. L. Walker sang 'O
Love Divine,' and Mr. A. Secomb
was organist. The reception was held
at the home of the bride's parents.
The three-decker cake, made by the
bride's mother, was beautifully decorat
ed by a professional. Mrs. Coombe
received her guests, wearing a black
tailored costume with a shoulder posy
of red roses assisted b\r the bride
groom's mother, also in a black tailor
ed costume, with a posy of . cream
roses. The presents were numerous
and beautiful, and included several

the South Coast where the honey

in a wine-toned frock with black ac
cessories, covered with a beautiful teal
blue coat, the muff and fur to match
